Jackdaws love my big nob of quartz

Every now and then my wife reads my blog. As far as I am aware, this is only when she happens to see me looking at it and she remembers it exists.

When this happens, she reads backwards through the history until she gets bored or reads something she things she’s read before. Trouble is last time she skipped over most of the entries I thought were funniest and worth reading. Turns out, I geek-out more often on this blog (When I bother to post) than I thought I did. The geek content is worryingly high.

For the purpose of separating out subjects into cross-cutting concerns in a manner similar to the principles of aspect-oriented programming (argh, dammit, I’m doing it again) I have created a sub-blog.

You can find it at ‘Yeah, but is it going to work?’ and it will be the point of reference for all my geek-programming related blogfoolery.

As for this blog - it is always the first to suffer when deadlines seem to consume my life and being a dad consumes what’s left. New year resolution: FINISH THE DAMNED REDESIGN.

It was secret santa day yesterday at work. I forgot about it, but luckily I had bought a present that lunchtime which was sneakily added to the pile at the last moment in a plastic bag with a post-it note on top. There was a lot of loud comments along the lines of “What shit wrapping that present has.”

I got a dilbert desk calender. I’m not sure if this goes in this blog now, or the geek one. Hmm.
