Tumbley drier
Surprise of surprises the phone rang on Sunday night, about 8.30. It was tumble drier repair man wondering if he could pop round to fix the machine there and then.
Sure enough, an hour later he appeared and duly started taking the machine apart and prodding it with a multimeter. He’d brought along the spare part, (A temperature sensor) and I asked him how he knew that that’s what was wrong. He said it was a common fault. Fair enough.

So he took out the old sensor, screwed the new one in and turned the screwdriver just a little too tightly. Twang went the new sensor, now as busted as the old one.
Then, as he screwed it back together again, “Ah, there’s the problem” and he reaches into the steam outlet and yanks something around.
“That’s it fixed!” He proclaims.
Unfortunately it’s now without a temperature sensor and he’ll have to come back with a new one some other time.
Thanks, tumble-drier repair man.
