Guitar nonsense
Last night was lesson two in the ongoing struggle between myself and my guitar. It would have been lesson three, but last weeks was cancelled due to the house being in a state of DIY disaster.
Progress had been pleasingly swift so far, but last nights lesson was much trickier. What I learned last night…
- The ‘Heart of Gold’ that I had learned over the past two weeks is not the ‘Heart of Gold’ known to all as the popular song by Neil Young. I have, in fact, created a new song all of my own.
- I can’t strum.
- The numbers 1, 4 and 5 are terribly important. I got a bit lost here to be honest.
- Another student has been getting lessons for a year.
- Singing is very difficult.
- The ‘F-shape’ is very useful.
- Making things up as you go is often good.
I’m sure there’s progress in there somewhere. Next week I shall be exploring the intricacies of ‘Wish you were here’ by Pink Floyd. Actually, I might re-explore the intricacies of ‘Heart of Gold’. It kinda depends.
