Workmen

Workmen who don’t turn up. Why do I attract bad service? I want an answer.

Firstly the tumble drier decided that whilst it enjoyed tumbling it would rather not dry. In other words it stopped heating up. Being in its guarantee period, we phoned to get someone out to fix it. I was off work for a week so it was the best time for it.

But Saturday came and the opportunity was lost. He said he’d call by 3pm. He didn’t bother and there are a couple of messages on my answer machine from Monday saying that he’ll arrange something some time.

That’s nice of him, but I want my Saturday back.

Then last night my vacuum cleaner spluttered and died. The fuse checked out fine.

I blame myself for buying it on the cheap from a cluttered corner hardware shop that sells random crap. It wasn’t till we got it home and out of the box that we noticed the ‘factory reconditioned’ sticker on the back.

Well it was Christmas, we were broke and we needed a hoover fast, (Ironically because the old one that was bought from the same guy who sold us the tumble drier started blowing instead of sucking).

Now I face having to go into the little cluttered corner shop at the weekend and explain that I think we were conned and I’d like it replaced please.

Oh, and if you are thinking about renting out a flat, don’t use ‘1-2-Let’. I’m working on a ‘bad company’ page for them, all of their own. The catalogue of incompetence I’ve compiled with them is truly staggering.

Why can’t companies just do what they say they’re gonna do? Hmm? Hmm?
